We have micro channel architecture out there, and several proposed standards, as well as various de facto standards (all basically extended AT busses). When looking for a sys- tem to run Xenix on, one naturally has to wonder whether it is better to wait for standardization on the 32-bit is- sue, or whether existing busses provide sufficient flexi- bility to make the question of which bus superfluous. If an existing system is compatible, and runs current soft- ware, is this sufficient? Is it worth the wait for newer 32-bit standards to be implemented? Please respond to the net. I would be interested in seeing some opninions tossed around. -Richard L. Goerwitz goer@sophist.uchicago.edu rutgers!oddjob!gide!sophist!goer
