I am going to be placing my Oracle database file into a raw partition on my disk. The partition is currently used as a physical DOS partition which is D: under vpix. What is the device name for that raw device under xenix 2.3 ?? The Oracle book gives an example of /dev/rdsk/c0d0sA, but I don't think that's quite right. Any help will be appreciated. Dewey Paciaffi

If you already have it marked as a dos parition then /dev/hd0d should do it. Do a strings /dev/hd0d and you should get stuff recognizable as the boot sector of the DOS partition. ------------------------ Clyde Smith-Stubbs HI-TECH Software, P.O.
