I have several Bell Tech tape subsystems which I would like to use with Xenix/386. BT told me they would work with the Xenix drivers, but I can't get the driver to find the controller. I've talked to Bell Tech who sold it, and SCO without solid results. Everyone says it will work but... it doesn't. The units work with Xenix/286 and the BT drivers. I assume that the hardware is still good. Then I jumpered the drive select from 3 to 1 on the (Wangtek) drive. Both SCO and BT agree on the switch settings, and that's the way the controllers are shipped. Has anyone used the Everex EV 811 RevB controller, and will it work with the Xenix drivers? The supported configurations don't seem to be in HW anymore, and the release notes are packed. There is a BT part on the controller which supposedly makes it work with their drivers. Does it also break the controller for standard drivers (not a friendly thing to do). Does someone have a good supplier for either the part or the whole controller? I have Archive SC499 controllers which work, but the cable connections are all diferent and would have to be rewired. bill davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.crd.GE.COM) {uunet | philabs}!crdgw1!crdos1!davidsen "Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me
