Hello Net-people... Well, seems that I have ran into another problem. Our office system crashed (video problems), and it was running SCO 2.2.3...before it went down, it seemed that the lp and lpr went crazy, and I was finally not able to print any longer...while trying to use lpinit, and remove the printer (lp0 named printer1), I tried to initiate a 'new' default printer, but found that SCO would not allow me to create a new default printer..and SCO was searching for the new printer files way-out side of it's parameters...something like /usr/lib/some_directory...now that the machine is repaired, I tried to re-install xenix, and here is the problems that I am encountering... during installation, I am no longer asked if I want a seperated /u system, of which I was asked each time that I have installed xenix. Once it appears that xenix is 'installed', the system will boot only as far as the 'XENIX boot:' prompt, then nothing else happens... and upon hitting the return key, the system will not respond...of course the keyboard buffer will get full, and then beep (after 12 or so returns). The system will boot off the floppy drives, and will respond semi-normal (except the /u question stated earlier), and I can boot off the floppy by typing xenix, and the system will default to the harddrive, but upon login, I get the error message: sh: fork failed, too many processes This seems to only happen now...what be the problem here?? Is something not fully installed, or is my master disks trashed??? I hope someone can help me, since this is our Store Operating System, and we have been crippled since last Wednesday... Here is the equipment we have incase it helps: Tandy 3000HD (w/40meg) 1024 Memory SCO 2.2.3 xenix V/286 VM-1 high-text monitor (piece-o-crap) Thanks in advance... gwilkins@cup.portal.com
