I have the nethack version 3 sources at patchlevel 2 on my sco xenix 286 version 2.2.3 (development system version 2.2.1) system... Everything worked fine (though I had to kick up the -SEG#256 to be -SEG 1000 - both the number was too small and the syntax was incorrect - can't have the # sign) _but_ the level compiler doesn't seem to do anything; when I did "make spec_levs" in the top directory it built the level compiler, cd'd to auxil, did ../src/lev_comp on the level descriptions files, but no output files were produced at all, and no errors were generated. Has anyone got this to work? Thanks!
