Hello, sorry to post this here but I can't (for some reason I don't know) post in any gnu group from here - the articles remain local on this machine. I have succesfullt compiled GNU emacs under SCO Xenix i386 release 2.3.2 Ok - now I have a Wyse 99 GT as serial terminal. I can define the COMPOSE key as META, FUNCTION, COMPOSE and HOLD. Great - I thought I can define it as META and use it with GNU emacs instead of ESC because COMPOSE more easy to reach than ESC. But what happens - yeah you're right it don't works. When I press COMPOSE (defined as META) with v emacs puts a v on the screen instead of scrolling back. So could anyone please help me out (via mail) with this one ? Is there anythink I've done wrong in compiling emacs or must I customize the terminal in any way I don't know ? In general I would also like to know what META key means ? It does somethink with the highest used bit - but what ?
