A few weeks ago I posted an article describing the problems I experianced using MS-DOS applications under SCO Xenix VP/ix after intalling the VP/ix Update A package. Specifically, the symptoms I experianced was a failure to refresh the screen until a key was pressed on the terminal. This occurred using Wyse 60 terminals on both the standard com ports as well as the Digiboard Com 8/i multiport board. The MS-DOS applications were know to work properly on the previous VP/ix release. The following is a patch which will correct the problem, please note that you be root to apply the patch and you must ensure that you have installed the correct release of Vp/ix as follows: grep rel /etc/perms/vpix.UA which should return: #rel=1.1.1e or strings vpix | fgrep vpixid which should return: vpixid 1.17 once you have established that you do indeed have the correct release installed apply the adb patch. The following script will apply the patch "painlessly": cd /usr/bin cp vpix vpix1A.org adb -w vpix < [your_path]/vpixpatch.data Appended below is the actual patch which you can cut and save to a file.
