Version 7.6.0 of XBBS is now online. This new version has "variable" menu entries. Basically, what this means is that "if you see it, you can do it". For users of other bbs software systems, this is basically what "FIDO", by Tom Jennings, does. Files that have changed since version 7.5.1: bbsc1.c, bbscsigs.c, bbsc12.h. New files for 7.6.0: bbscmenu.c Enjoy, Sandy -- uucp: ...!uunet!zardoz!alphacm!sandy ....!att!hermix!alphacm!sandy ...!trwrb!ucla-an!alphacm!sandy ....!lcc!alphacm!sandy phone: data --- 714-821-9671 voice --- 714-821-9670 Sanford <sandy> Zelkovitz

Hi Larry, I could not contact you in email at all for some reason and my last try could not reach your host at all for three days. There is fidonet mailer for Unix but this is not working yet for my either ICS and Xenix yet. I got this program from comp.unix.source long ago. This works only in Sealink Protocals and uses usenet format using with rn, readnews and postnews instead of msg format from Fidonet. This can compile and read Fidonet nodelist. This is written by Finnish author, Heikki Suonsivu (mcvax!santra!hsu). Sandy from XBBS and my board has this source code but I just got the message from Heikki that has newer source code and I am still working out on obtaining codes. My HST is not up with Xenix yet and the missing parts is NRAM setup. If I make my HST into factory setting, I would like to know how to setup from scratch. I think I have little problem with gettydefs because sometime it stops from going to console login so I am still working on this. Are you running AKCS right now???? I hope to find a way to get your system by mail. willy uunet!nwnexus!seaeast!willyp

>There is fidonet mailer for Unix but this is not working yet for my >either ICS and Xenix yet. I got this program from comp.unix.source I have an old copy of this program and would be interested in obtaining the latest release once you get it. >My HST is not up with Xenix yet and the missing parts is NRAM setup. >If I make my HST into factory setting, I would like to know how to setup >from scratch. I think I have little problem with gettydefs because >sometime it stops from going to console login so I am still working on I assume that you did receive my HST settings posted in comp.dcom.modems ? I have the HST yielding zmodems transfers of archived (packed) files of around 1560 cps but the HST and UUCP doesn't work well together. >Are you running AKCS right now???? Yes. AKCS is slick. I am tossing all the comp, rec, soc, gnu, misc and news groups into AKCS. I still need to get smail completely working with AKCS along with interdomain addressing. >I hope to find a way to get your system by mail.
