[comp.unix.xenix] "out of state space" error from yacc

rbarrell@lgnp1.LS.COM (Robert Barrell) (10/15/89)

Recently I downloaded the sources for sc (spreadsheet calculator) version
6.1, and attempted to compile them on my 286 machine running SCO xenix286. The
C part of it seemed to be going okay, but when yacc tried to compile gram.y, I
got the error message "fatal error: out of state space, line 400". Which was
rather interesting, since gram.y has only 399 lines. My presumption is that
there is something missing within gram.y (such as a missing "}" would do for a C
program), but I'm not familiar enough with yacc to be able to spot anything
obviously wrong. I have also tried downloading GNU bison1.03 in hopes that
there could be some sort of limit to SCO's yacc that bison might not have, but
bison only dumps core so far. What might I be missing? Has anyone else gotten
sc6.1 to work on SCO 286?

I too have tried to get this to compile on a 386 running ISC 2.0.2 SYSV
I get the same error when YACC tries to compile gram.c. I would be interested
in what the problem is. I have also compiled it on the SYSV system here at
work and it compiles fine and runs fine.

Any YACC people out there that can help?
