Hi, I have a very specific problem - how to connect a SCO Xenix system ( about level 2.3 ) to an IBM System 38 machine. Yep , the wierd ones that DON'T do SNA or all that good stuff. I *think* the protocol they use is 5250 (?) or 5052. All we need is file transfer. At the moment this involves booting the 386 in DOS , using a program/board supplied by IBM that talks to System 38's . I guess we need the driver for the board under Xenix. Anyone any idea's ?? I've tried most of the usual suppliers and drawn a blank. Any advice most gratefully received. thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Jeavons ATP Ltd (+44) 0483 303673 Fax/Phone | (+44) 0860 569752 Phone London England ...!ukc!qtlon!andrew -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Andrew, (and everyone else) The though occurs to me that since System/38s can support dial-ins, is it totally out of the question to think in terms of using kermit? If that doesn't work, another thing that comes to mind is a comapny that sells communications software for DOS _AND_ they include source code in Fortran and C which you can compile and run on any system.
