[comp.unix.xenix] Help with Emacs 18.55 under SCO XENIX 2.3.1

matt@accuvax.nwu.edu (Matt Larson) (12/14/89)

[ I posted this article several days ago, but have reason to believe it never
left the nwu.edu domain. I apologize if this turns out to be a re-post. ]

Several weeks ago there was some discussion about compiling Emacs under SCO.
Someone said that they had gotten Emacs 18.55 to compile with no problem.
I tried to compile 18.55 on a 386, XENIX 2.3.1. It compiles fine, but when
I invoke it, I get the message:

emacs: Terminal type xxxx is not defined.

As far as I can tell, I have all the paths set up correctly. I'm storing the
lisp libraries in the same directory that the sources were compiled in. I've
tried changing terminal types to those listed in lisp/term, but nothing seems
to work. Does anybody have any suggestions? Please forgive me if I'm making
a simple mistake and broadcasting my Emacs ignorance to the net.

Thanks a lot.
