[comp.unix.xenix] Problems with -ltermcap and -lcurses in SCO XENIX-386 2.3.2

Hello --

I just bought SCO XENIX-386 2.3.2 and I am having problems
linking any program that uses both -ltermcap and -lcurses. The
error that I am getting from the linker is:

/lib/386/Slibcurses.a(ttstuff.c) : error: _quit: symbol defined more than once
 pos 9d1a Record type: 90

I tried to undefine _quit in ttstuff.o by extracting ttstuff.o from the
library and saying

	ld -r -u _quit ttstuff.o -o newttstuff.o

and then replacing the object file in the library, followed by a ranlib,
but this did not work.

Does anyone out there know how I can fix this (how about you,
SCO?)? I tried tearing out the Development System and then re-installing,
but that made no difference. I installed the Development System using
termcap curses as the default, if that makes any difference. Please
send e-mail if you can help.

					Thanks in advance,

						John
