I have ported the Bellcore window system MGR to 386PC running Xenix SysV 2.3.2. Current BitBlit code supports both interlaced and none-interlaced video controllers. The code has been tested on Hercules and VGA card. It should be easy enough to adapt the code for any other display cards supported by Xenix. MGR is a network transperant window system delevoped at Bellcore for SUN workstations. The source code is available via anonymous ftp at bellcore.com. I haven't got time to port everything yet, but the main window manager and most of the utilities and demos run very stable now and a 386SX with the MGR runs just like a low end SUN-3 workstation. I have tried to run graphics demos over a 2400 baud phone line. The performance is quite acceptable. If there are enough interest I will post diffs to comp.unix.xenix. chain lee --------- chain@datacube.com chain@paul.rutgers.edu forwarded to chain@datacube.com
