I'm trying to set up a dial-in bulletin board for my company -- we want to open up access to bug-fixes and various other helpful stuff to those of our users without Internet access -- and I'd like to find out about what such software is available. I'd really like to get one running over Xenix rather than DOS, which I think would simplify the task of keeping the same info available through anonymous FTP, and I just got a 286 box to dedicate to the task. The only such beast I've heard of so far is Sandy Zelkovitz's XBBS: 1) Is XBBS public domain? Can it be run on a 286 machine? 2) Can it be run along with processes like an FTP daemon? Can files be accessed both through XBBS and ftp? Does it support, or can it coexist with, XYorZmodem? 3) How does one get this stuff? I couldn't get "nuucp" to work; it seemed to want a password from me. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? Or (cross fingers) is it available through the internet? Anybody know of any other BBS software for Xenix/286? A thousand thanks for any help, --Vicka Corey vicka@ftp.com Technical Support vicka@idr.cambridge.ma.us FTP Software (617)246 0900 *331 "More fun than a barrel of monkey wrenches!"
