[comp.unix.xenix] Using speeds above 9600 on a dumb serial port

pmartin@ucqais.uc.edu (Paul Martin) (01/16/90)

Is there an easy way to use 19.2k or 38.4k on a dumb serial card?
From what I have read it seems that I need some other device driver
to give me that speed. Is there such a beast available from pd
sources or from SCO? I am using Xenix/386 2.3.2 and the top speed is
appearantly 9600.

Thanks in advance.

I am running terminals at 19.2 off an Arnet dumb board with no
additional software. The OS is SCO 2.2.1. Use the exta and extb(38.4)
entries in the gettydefs file (providing of course that your serial
chip can go that fast).
