Has anyone tried to make a version of gdb that will work under SCO Xenix386, Dev. Sys. 2.2? Does anyone have any opinion about the feasibility of such an undertaking? Please send me e-mail or post here if you deem your remarks of general interest. Thanks very much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Seth Chaiklin Institute for Learning Technologies (212) 678-3899 Box 8, Teachers College, Columbia University, NYC 10027 INTERNET: chaiklin@cunixf.cc.columbia.edu UUCP: seth@ny-yn ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sys. 2.2? Short answer: You probably have to get gcc working first. gcc assumes that the code and data are in the same segment (tiny rather than small model). There is an option to avoid this, but it doesn't seem to work right. I have not seen gcc for Xenix, although I would love to have someone tell me it exists. SCO UNIX *will* run gcc, unless several people are kidding me, but the UNIX development set includes CodeView (again people who have it tell me), and eliminates the need for gdb unless you just like it better. -- bill davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.crd.GE.COM -or- uunet!crdgw1!crdos1!davidsen) "Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me
