I'm still having problems with incoming "news articles" gettng "stuck" in the feeding computer's spool directory. I now have 7 articles from January 13 that haven't been distributed to the appropriate directory. These are the current problem files; drwxrwxrwx 2 uucp group 272 Jan 14 05:24 mgse drwxr-xr-x 2 uucp group 144 Jan 14 04:40 rex $ cd mgse $ l total 128 -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 18412 Jan 13 17:04 D.mgsecf2333c -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 3475 Jan 13 17:23 D.mgsecf24159 -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 9605 Jan 13 18:53 D.mgsecf35bfd -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 5659 Jan 13 19:27 D.mgsecf39273 -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 9055 Jan 13 20:23 D.mgsecf431cf -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 3691 Jan 13 23:33 D.mgsecf4fcf3 -rwxrwxrwx 1 uucp group 10614 Jan 13 23:33 D.mgsecf99334 The directory path is /usr/spool/uucp/mgse. How can I force these files to descramble/uncompress and then have the correct news groups updated with articles contained within these files? I have received articles after these and they have all unspooled correctly. Mel Shear, New Orleans, LA. uucp: rex!fleet!mel bitnet: mel%fleet@REX.CS.TULANE.EDU internet: mel%fleet@rex.cs.tulane.edu

You can feed them to rnews by hand. Painful, but it works! /usr/bin/rnews (or wherever your rnews lives) < D.foobarBblah --John
