Yes but if we _did_ catch you doing so, we would find that you had
turned the autoswitch OFF. Most VGAs work fine with 2.2.3 once the
autoswitch is disables and the card always acts like a VGA.

Your problem is the version. SCO 2.2 for the 286 doesn't support VGA. Upgrade
to 2.3 and your problems will be solved.
