[comp.unix.xenix] uusched core dumps

pmartin@psmsd.UUCP (Paul Martin) (02/07/90)

I am running SCO Xenix/386 2.3.2 with HDB uucp. Whenever uusched
is run and runs uucico I get a core dump in the /usr/spool/uucp
directory. I can run uucico or run uusched with out running
uucico and I don't get the dump. I only get the dump after
uucico exits back to uusched. I checked the permissions and
ownership of all the files in /usr/lib/uucp and /usr/spool/uucp
and everything looks right with the owner being uucp.
Everything appears to be ok, I just get the core dump file out
there. I have tried re-installing, but I still get the dump.
I also made sure that uusched is run under the uucp account.
Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions?
Like I said everything appears to be working (i.e. news and
mail transfer fine), I just get this core file hanging out there.

Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem back when I was running Xenix. The problem
was corrected when I installed the update disk from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 ('386).

I would suggest getting a copy of the 2.3.3 update disk from SCO.

Yup yup yup. Send yer complaint to SCO and they will mail you the 2.3.1
uusched which doesn't do this.
