[comp.unix.xenix] SCO Lost my update?

mel@fleet.UUCP (mel) (02/08/90)

After I reported the "core" dump error in 2.3.2GT's uucico a tech from SCO
called and told me to revert back to the 2.3.1 version. I had already done so.
There's still a problem with "uucp" or "getty" changing permissions on the
designated uucp port. After uucp is invoked the port loses its read permissions.
This problem also began after I updated from 2.3.1 to 2.3.2GT.

I also brought up the fact that I was still waiting for a fix to the
"double-entry" command problem for Archive tape drives which is an
acknowledged bug. This problem has been with us since the jump from 2.2.3
to 2.3.1 when SCO took over direct support(?) of Archive's tape driver
(about a year now?).

I was promised a soon to be released update that would solve these problems.
Now I keep reading about a 2.3.3GT update. Is this what I'm waiting for?
Will it solve the Archive tape driver problem? Where is my "promised" copy?
Should I have to keep calling SCO to remind them of their support obligations?
Maybe I should get a discount for finding their bugs? Why do we have to pay for
updates that solve bug fixes for bugs that weren't in previous releases?
