[comp.unix.xenix] VI?

gnome@cbnewsj.ATT.COM (ronald.l.fletcher) (02/01/90)

Does a public domain version of vi exist for a Xenix machine?
An Altos PC in particular. A friend of mine needs a copy
for a short while. Any leads appreciated.

There was a vi-alike posted to comp.sources.unix a year or so back,
named `Stevie - An Aspring Vi Clone'.

The most complete PD VI I've seen so far is "elvis". It's much better
than "stevie". It's posted to comp.sources.minix a while back.

Unlike earlier versions of XENIX sold with Tandy computers, I
believe that Altos XENIX had vi as part of the OS, rahter than the
development system.
