[comp.unix.xenix] TeX support files - I'm not posting

glenn@extro.ucc.su.oz.au (G Geers) (02/27/90)

Hi,
Despite the demand I am not going to post the support files.
Two reasons:
1. I've been flamed n^n times.
2. It'll consume mega net bandwidth and small sites don't like it.

I have also received many requests for these files particularly from the US.
I'd like to know what sites archive the support stuff (i.e., .tfm, .sty and
.tex files - replies by mail, I'll post the list).
Oh, and please don't mail root@extro.ucc.su.oz with complaints about my
postings. I'm not sysadmin on this machine.

On a lighter note, a friend of mine has ported Beebe's dvivga to Xenix.
It currently drives VGA and EGA. A Hercules port is under way. There will
not be a port to CGA - it's just not worth doing. Beebe will be notified
and hopefully the new file will be included in his dvixxx family of drivers.
If anyone wants to beta test I will mail the modified files to them. You
will need the dvivga (DOS) distribution.

						Cheers,
							Glenn

I can mail a 1.2 meg 5 1/4 inch floppy with the missing files to
those people who can't find a free way to get it. I will charge
$5.00 + $.65 for shipping and handling. If you need more details
send email to uudell!loft386!dpi or dpi@loft386.UUCP or as a last
resort uunet!loft386!dpi. I am not certain if I am going to keep
my uunet feed so use that as a last resort. I cannot offer support
and other than replacement of bad media I can offer no warranty.

This is about 1576448 bytes but compresses to 614997 bytes. It is
a standard tar format that I have read under both 386 Xenix and
System V 3.2 Unix versions.

I hope this helps!

I forgot to mention that the offer is for the US only. I don't have time
to fight US customs over a $5.00 diskette.
