Hello, I'm planning to put X-window to my 386 clone equiped with xenix 386 and 8 Meg. RAM. However, I do not want to spend $600 to buy Xsight from SCO. Is it possible to get the source for X11 from some of the ftp sites and compile them and get it work under my 386? I heard that I have to write the interface for 386, is it true? If it is, how difficult is such an implementation? Is there any public domain 386 interface for X11? Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ray

As long as you have an X server (X Terminal, Workstation, etc.) availiable, you can compile the X11R4 libraries and clients with a little work. If you don't have X server, you could port the sample server with a _lot_ of work. --jtc -- J.T. Conklin ...!{uunet,ubc-cs}!van-bc!jtc, jtc@wimsey.bc.ca
