[net.unix-wizards] .UC manual macro

Can anyone tell me what the '.UC 4' macro at the top of many
manual pages is for? I can't find it documented anywhere...

Simple:  .UC ==> 3rd Berkeley Software Distribution; .UC 4 ==> 4th Berkeley
software distribution. (Without it, 7th Ed.)

It just replaces the info at the bottom of the troff'ed man pages. We
stuck in one for U. of MD.
