ihm@NRC.COM (Ian H. Merritt) (06/09/90)
Hi,
I currently don't have news access; I am just getting my enviroment
set up for my new company. So if you have any replies, please email
them to rick@NRC.COM. An alias there knows the uglies of how to reach
me via uucp.
I am running SCO Xenix 386 2.3.2, and have installed smail (v2.5,
5/30/87) ontop of SCOs standard mail-over-uucp. I have also updated
to SCOs XNX129 update for UUCP. I am using MUSH for the reader. I
have two problems with my setup:
1) A number of system utilities assume the mailer can handle the
syntax "mail -s <subject> <name>", but the svbinmail which comes with
smail objects to the -s parameter.
2) Some where in the delivery chain (I think the original SCO mail)
messes up the headers, so that the from: and subject: lines are not
identifiable to mush or mail. Here is a sample header. Somewhere
along the line, something added the first header, making the second
(real) header unseen by the reader.
