Can some tell me if Xenix comes with ftp capability and where one might find it if it does?

Your next question might be "Does it work?" and the answer is "No!". At least not for us. I've been trying to get SCO TCP/IP working reliably over an Internet SLIP link for a month now and despite the best efforts of myself, a consultant and a helpful SCO analyst we've been unable to make it work for more than a few minutes. We've been buying SCO products for years and this is the first time I've hit a dead end like this. Is anyone in netland connected to the Internet via a SLIP link using SCO TCP/IP while at the same time running a local ethernet? Is it reliable? Are you using a stock version, or have you adb'ed your binaries to make it work? -- Fred Fierling fff@eng.mplex.bc.ca Tel: 604 875-1461 Fax: 604 875-9029 Microplex Systems Ltd 265 East 1st Avenue Vancouver, BC V5T 1A7, Canada

Is it reliable? Are you Yes we get into the Internet via SLIP. We have in the past also used TCP/IP with Ethernet at the same time. FTP is reliable. Although we have the occasional drop. It is reliable enough to successfully ftp multi-megabyte compress files. Perhaps one in five times it will have to be restarted. I suspect that the problem is more one of not being able to tune properly for the slow (compared to Ethernet) SLIP link. >using a stock version, or have you adb'ed your binaries to make it work? No. We've adb'ed the binaries to fix bugs and replaced some (especially BIND) with newer versions (thanks to Andy Poling who made his UnixPC port of various BSD TCP/IP programs available). -- Stuart.Lynne@wimsey.bc.ca ubc-cs!van-bc!sl 604-937-7532(voice)

Arrr... is the sum total of the information you gathered to do this 1) in one place 2) for free or 2b) for sale 3) still relevant in the light of the recent release of SCO's full-release version of their TCP ? On that latter note, anyone seen light of the latter, and care to share some stories with us ?
