Hi, I have just installed smail2.5 to try and fix the broken mailer in Xenix 2.3. I also wanted pathalias and other neat things... Well all is well except for a problem... Mail is getting in and out but the headers on the mail received are weird and they are causing elm some trouble. Here is a header from both the old Xenix mailer (1st *) and one from smail (2nd #): * From ucsbcsl!beaver.cs.washington.edu!sumax!linqdev!darren Thu Jul 5 22:46:22 1990 * Received: from beaver.cs.washington.edu by hub.ucsb.edu; id AA02573 * sendmail 4.0/UCSB-2.0-sun * Thu, 5 Jul 90 22:38:18 PDT for ws7m * Received: from sumax.UUCP by beaver.cs.washington.edu (5.61/7.0) * id AA29118; Thu, 5 Jul 90 22:36:22 -0700 * Return-Path: <sumax!linqdev!darren> * Received: by sumax.UUCP (smail2.5) * id AA00503; Thu, 5 Jul 90 22:27:54 PST * From: <ucsbcsl!beaver.cs.washington.edu!linqdev!darren> * Received: by ole.UUCP (5.51/4.7) id AA04912; Thu, 5 Jul 90 16:37:33 PDT * Message-Id: <9007052337.AA04912@ole.UUCP> * Subject: Re: MKS ex.rc * To: beaver.cs.washington.edu!ole!sumax!uw-beaver!hub.ucsb.edu!ws7m!ws7m (Mark R. On the message from smail I simply get: from: uucp subject: It shows no subject... Uucp happens to be the logname given to the connection used to retrieve the mail. I have another site (ivucsb) that if I get mail from that site it says: from: ivucsb subject: So the question is what defines or switches to I need to throw in both elm and smail to make things happy? Can anybody help? Thanks in advance! Mark Please email reply to: ws7m!ws7m@hub.ucsb.edu
