It was mentioned at the recent Electronic Imaging conference held on the west coast. Does it bear any relation to Postscript? Are there any Postscript clones being developed? PreScript is an "image description language" that is used to standardize how scanned images should be described; this allows various scanner manufacturers and software developers to have compatibility with each other. It has nothing to do with PostScript except that a PreScript image may find its way into a PostScript file at some time (after being converted into PostScript). > Are there any Postscript clones being developed? Yes, Sun NeWS can be thought of as a PostScript clone; CCS-Page from Control C Software (formerly called C-Script); and a PostScript controller clone from Phoenix Software. If anyone knows of any others, let me know, as I'm thinking about an article on PostScript clones. Pat Wood Editor, The PostScript Language Journal {ihnp4,harpo}!bellcore!phw5!phw
