To: outnews#ext.nn.comp.misc@andrew.cmu.edu I have an electronic sign board made by the (now defunct) firm of Bruner Broadcast that used to be based in Texas. It is the standard LED array type, and has 2 8K PROMS on board, and 32K RAM. It uses a Z8681 as a controller. The setup we have has a 300 baud Cat modem attached, and we can talk to the board, but can't get it to do anything. On the main PC board there are two 8 dipswitches. One seems to set the baud rate, and the other some value that is displayed (in hex) upon board power-up, along with the PROM version number. We dumped the PROMS out, and are in the process of poring over the code, but if anyone knew how the thing worked already, it would be a big win for us.
