[comp.misc] what happened no NEXT Computers ?

I recently saw a show on PBS about entrepreneurs. The first segment was
about Steven Jobs and his new company NEXT Computers. During the fall of
'85, they (Jobs and his company) were planning the development of the next
generation of pc's - a high power machine targeted for use in a university
research environment, selling for about $3k. The plan was to have this product
to market in spring '87. I believe this show was a repeat and no follow-up
was presented. Does any one have any info on NEXT Computers? Did this venture
succeed?

no one will admit it, but I get the feeling that they're trying to make a
high-end pc to compete in the workstation market at CMU.

(no, this doesn't have anything to do with my bloody nondisclosure agreement,
because I didn't hear it from you)
