First let me appologize if this is posted in the wrong places, but I want to ensure the widest possible readership. Our local high school is having a career fair for all the students in the county in December. The format will consist of 45 minute sessions during the day. There will be about 35 concurrent sessions with a guest speaker in each session as well as those students that have decided to select that session. As the representative from our University on the steering committee I was assigned the task of trying to find some scheduling software that would make life easier. I have checked our local sources and have found nothing suitable for the task of scheduling over 1000 students to any five of the 10 time slots and the 35 or so sessions in each time slot. H E L P !!!! If anyone out there in netland has or knows of software that is capable of performing this scheduling task please e-mail me. The software can run on just about any computer but the following would be preferred: IBM or compatible Atari Amiga Mac Mac II Apple A Unix box - either Ultrix, Unix Sys V, or Bsd 4.3. Preference is for public domain or shareware or very inexpensive commercial software as our budget is very limited. Source of course is preferred but binaries will also be accepted.
