I have a question. We repair most everything electronic on the UW-Milwaukee campus. One of the things we repair is printers. Now the question. Panasonic printers, such as the KX-P3151 and KX-P1092 (among others) have a two year warranty. In that time, we receive a user's printer, haul it to the warranty repair station across town and give it back when it's repaired. After that time, we repair it ourselves, naturally. The Panasonic printers all seem to cost around $300 new. We are wondering if you have any tables for depreciation of computing equipment? Do you think it would be ultimately less expensive to repair these printers until they wear out, or replace them next failure after warranty runs out? Actual tables from insurance companies or the IRS would be appreciated. Reply by e-mail to the above address. Thanks. - Tom Thomas Krueger, Univ WI Milwaukee, Computing Services, Electronics Shop tjk@csd4.milw.wisc.edu +1 414 229 5172
