Is there available a Unix which runs on a mainframe (IBM 3081, for example) which supports vi? We are currently using UTS from Amdahl and it doesn't have vi. I hear rumors that they will have it Real Soon Now, but does anyone have it NOW? -- This may not even represent my opinion, much less AMD's. Just as an aside, does UTS support you terminal as in full duplex or half? Wouldn't vi have problems reconciling the differences such as throwing away all typeahead when writing to the terminal? Of course, if a front end is required as in VM/IX, then this is not really a problem. Herb... I'm user-friendly -- I don't byte, I nybble....
