I am looking for conferences at which issues of procurement, government contracting and subcontracting, and others relevant to doing business with the government are discussed. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance. Reach me Email, or through Barry A Stevens Applied AI Systems PO Box 2747 Del Mar, CA 92014 619-755-7231

A few years ago, I attended the first Army AI conference. There was a strong resemblance to feeding time at the Marine World sea lion pool. John Nagle

To begin with, I wrote a book on this exact subject which I believe is quite helpful. It is called "Proposal Writing for the Data Processing Consultant" (Roetzheim: Prentice-Hall, 1986), and it covers all aspects of the government procurement process, including subcontracting. The next best source for general seminars is the small business administration. For example, they put on a free seminar in San Diego on this subject at least once per year. The third place to check is with your local congressman. They are quite willing (normally eager) to help by recommending appropriate people to talk to for assistance. All local congressmen were at the last small business procurement seminar I attended. William Roetzheim 3891 American Avenue La Mesa, CA 92041 (619) 223-2307
