I have just seen the announcement of new BSD 4.3 release in comp.newprod . It was mentioned in the article that the Berkeley people has started identifying files that doesn't contain any AT&T code. These files are marked, and will be allowed to be copied, provided that the original copyright message of Berkeley will remain in the file. There are more than 1000 files that were identified and marked until now. Could this release be used by FSF to speed up the work on GNU? After all, these files are freely redistributable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Udi Finkelstein | Bitnet: finkel@taurus.bitnet or finkel@math.tau.ac.il Tel Aviv University | Internet: finkel%taurus.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu Israel | UUCP: ...!psuvax1!taurus.bitnet!finkel -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
