Here is a paragraph written by a good reviewer. It is a good paragpraph not because it's insightful, witty, or even entirely meaningful, but because of the last phrase: "The question of whether Apollo's Aegis system is superior to UNIX is not one I can address. The relative value of NFS versus the ACL approach may be of great long-term significance to the UNIX community, and of little significance to someone needing a product today, BUT IT IS CLEARLY OUTSIDE MY AREA OF COMPETANCE" [Emphasis mine -- PdS] -- David Wilson, UNIX REVIEW Vol 6 No 10, page 135. Clearly, since NFS is a remote file sharing system while ACLs are a file security technique that might be more closely compared to UNIX's user/group/ other protection modes. This man is to be strongly commended for recognising his limitations and being honest enought to admit to them. The relevence of this little example to another discussion about another reviewer, who waffles between claiming to be an expert and claiming to be a novice, should be obvious to the most casual observer. -- Peter da Silva `-_-' peter@sugar.uu.net Have you hugged U your wolf today?
