We have both BSD 4.3 and ULTRIX on several networked VAX's. Most of our technical users are dedicated users of UNIX MAIL but we also have many non technical employees who use PC's. The PC users would like to use UNIX MAIL but they perceive the command intensive nature of UNIX to be very "user-hostile" (These folks think computers should come with remote control units like VCR's & TV's !!!). Consequently, the users would like to be able to : 1) Prepare text with their favorite PC based word processor 2) Export this text file to the UNIX host. 3) Bring up a menu-driven front-end to UNIX MAIL 4) Import the text file, assign addresses, etc & send 5) Logout Does anyone know of a product which would provide the facilities of steps 2,3 & 4 ? Ideally, the product would also simplify the transfer of binary files and provide encryption if desired. PC-LINK from Pacer Software is a great product at a great price and it does a nice job of transfering files from PC or MAC to host but it is only supported under ULTRIX and we would like to use a BSD host. Any suggestions ??? THANKS Tim Knox (timk@omepd.intel.com, ...!verdix!omepd!timk) Intel
