My company is currently looking for what I call a demand-label printer, one in which the printer can print labels on a demand basis such that the paper does not have to be advanced to get the label after its been printed. We have an application in which the computer must generate an unspecified number of labels for test-tubes. It would be nice, but not essential, if the printer could also produce bar codes. I've looked at a *lot* of dot matrix printers, and have found that one seems to end up wasting a lot of labels advancing the paper. (BTW, the labels are 1/4" by 1 1/2" in size). The printer should have a serial interface, as it will hang as a slave of off wyse-50 terminals. Thanks in advance for any info... Nick ...utzoo!lsuc!aimed!nick
