[comp.misc] UNIFY/ACCELL swap problem

dave@isdserv.UUCP (Dave Wadsworth) (12/10/88)

We are currently running 4.3 and the SYSV dual port on
our ISI V24. We have encountered a problem during the
execution of our ACCELL databases. Occasionally the
executable ACCELL process (UNIFY) will go into disk wait with a
priority of -25. As a result it cannot be swapped out.
Other ACCELL processes follow suit and eventually we have
a system where everything is swapped out except 5 or
so ACCELL processes. The only way we have found to clear
the problem is to do a cold reboot on the system.

Does anyone have any suggestions on:

		1) how can we delete (kill) the processes
in disk wait when their PRI=-25? or
		2) how can we prevent the wait at a low
		   priority?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
(UNIFY has been made aware of the problem).
