Surely comp.misc is the right place for this, feel free to laugh or flame as suits you. I have written a couple of simple programs that set the system time from the Heathkit "Most Accurate Clock" and produce a weather report from the "Weather Computer ID-5001". Needless to say, each of my units has the RS-232 accessory. What I would like to know is if anyone has written any programs or awk scripts that do historical analysis of such data, e.g. how much does the system clock drift with respect to "Most Accurate Clock"?; what's the week, month, and year to date rainfall and how does it compare with last year? I'll be glad to share my lamebrained code with anyone who wants it, but I'm more interested in hearing from people who have progressed beyond where I am. Thanks, -- Bill Kennedy usenet {killer,att,cs.utexas.edu,sun!daver}!ssbn!bill internet bill@ssbn.WLK.COM
