I am working on a long term project studying the use of expert system technology in the business commu- nity. Part of the study involves looking at a number of commercial ES products to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, while another major part of the study is attempting to determine what kind of an infrastruc- ture is needed to support ES use in a large company. In other words, I would like to get ballpark answers for questions like what kind of support is needed from an MIS department, will knowledge engineers or ES professionals be required, what sort of applications make good "demonstration" systems, what kind of user response can be expected, and so on. I would be interesteII+Mponding with anyone who has relevant experience or would like to discuss the issues. I am especially interested in talking with people who have implemented expert systems or similar systems on personal computers or IBM mainframes. -------------------------------------------------------- Certum Quod Factum Usenet: bradb@ai.toronto.edu BBS systems (Toronto): One is certain only Canada Remote Systems of what one builds.
