As Chris Torek almost said, we have submitted a paper to the upcoming Winter 1985 USENIX conference in Dallas. The paper, "Implementing XNS Protocols for 4.2bsd", discusses the IP/TCP dependencies in the 4.2bsd network kernel and the changes we have made to implement the Internet Datagram Protocol and Sequenced Packet Protocol in our kernel.
