[comp.misc] Seeking HP150 software

eric@spock.UUCP (Eric Volpe) (05/17/89)

I'm the proud owner of a saved-from-euthanasia (gift) HP150.
I'm looking for software for it in general, communications software
capable of [xyz]modem/kermit file transfer, vt100 emulation, and/or
other assorted goodies. Did this computer ever become popular enough
to have a sizable base of public-domain software? Is there a BBS anywhere
catering to it's users? Are there any HP150 users?
Thanks for any and all responses!

I would be interested in finding out about any programs you come up
with. I have quite a few for the 150. The 150 isn't bios or hardware
compatible, but is MSDOS compatible. Therefore, lots of utilities and
compilers will run on it. Also, there is a program available which allows
the 150 to understand most of the BIOS calls. This allows WordPerfect 4.2
to run very well. I have the following:

Unix utilities:
  ls,sed,grep,fgrep,awk,head,tail,cat

Microsoft Windows 1.03 programs:
  Browser (simple database program)
Proteus (terminal emulator, with xmodem and kermit)
  Disk Jumper (disk maintenance)
  Fish (aquarium)
  3D Tic Tac Toe
various do-nothing graphics demos (mondrian, boxes, rotating cube, etc.)
quite a few others I can't think of

Graphics other than windows:
Macpaint file viewer/printer/converter to MS Paint (I wrote it)
Gif file viewer/printer/converter to MS Paint (I converted/wrote it.
Includes dithering for color; not 100% complete yet).

Various:
  disk organizer
  xmodem
  kermit
  small c compiler (early version)
  xlisp

I know the 150 is getting old, and isn't really speedy, but mine has been
working like a champ for 5 years now and I've *never* had a problem with it.
It has been moved in a car about 12 times; it always boots up. I upgraded
it to a NEC V20 about 2 years ago, and that gives me a little more speed,
especially in Windows.

Send me email or write me a letter with a disk or two or three or ....
