[comp.misc] Easy-To-Use database software for IBM PC ?

jam@bu-cs.BU.EDU (Jonathan Marshall) (08/29/89)

My wife works for a small legal mediation firm that would like to
install an EASY-TO-USE database system on their local network of
4 IBM XT/AT machines. She is seeking advice on which package they
should buy.
The system would be used to keep track of case information,
including names, addresses, phone numbers, scheduling dates, and
accounting. A calendar feature that hooks up to the system clock
would be nice too. Price is not a big issue.
She has heard of Paradox, which has been recommended
favorably, and of DBase, which has been described as too difficult
for non-programmers to use. The software will be used solely by
non-programmers including 2 lawyers, so it must be especially easy
to use.
She would appreciate any advice net-readers could give her on
which software to buy. You may reply to me via e-mail, and I will
pass your message on to her. Thanks a lot!
