Hi-
Our student organization has one computer--a Mac SE w/ hard drive--for
many users, and we are looking for a security program to protect certain
applications and folders from public access. We would greatly appreciate
any recommendations for specific programs you may be familiar with.
Basically what we would like is something that assigns owners & groups to
files (documents as well as applications) and/or folders, and passwords
to identify "OK" users, but at the same time still allows public access
to certain files (although perhaps only for reading) with no password.
Maybe something like UNIX's scheme for ownership, but with the icons &
windows, etc. of the Finder. Cost is a big concern.
