[comp.misc] Computers and the modern world

rpjday@ccu.umanitoba.ca (09/22/89)

A colleague of mine is teaching a full-year (2-term) course on the above.
The theme is the impact of computers on society. The audience is for the most
part first-year Arts students, and the course is just to give them an idea of
the effect of computerization. I am trying to track down articles, books,
anecdotes, whatever that anyone can supply relating to the above. The only
newsgroup I've found so far that is appropriate is comp.risks, and more
material would be nice.
If you have any leads, pointers to articles and the like, please e-mail
me. Feel free to donate fairly off-the-wall ideas (as if I had to mention it).
  Thanks.
