About 2 months ago there was *a lot* of discussion on the
Distributed Processing Technologies Smart Cache hard drive
controller.
I caught some of the discussion. I am in a position to possibly
benefit from what (I remember) this drive has to offer. I am
interested in finding out the pros and cons of such a board.
I'm running Microport UNIX SV on a '386. Overall things go
pretty quickly, but heavy disk usage (compiling and especially
new unpacking) results in noticeable system lag.
If someone summarized or in some way archived any/all of the
discussion and would pass it along to me at my address I would
really appreciate it. (compress and uuen/decode available)
Unless someone has something to add... (It wasn't *that* long
ago :-)
