[comp.misc] Printer advice: Canada to UK Move

I am thinking about getting a 9-pin printer here in Canada before going
to the UK next week. Does anybody know what difficulties I may have
vis-a-vis the different Voltage and "Hertzeage?" in England? Is it
sufficient to get a printer with a 110v-220v switch?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Judith

Yes, that should do it, unless there is something in the way the printer works
that depends on 60Hz for timing; I can't imagine there is, though. When I
worked for a US computer manufacturer in Europe, all our printers were
switchable, and when we'd get them in we would switch them to 220V, and off
we'd go.
