[comp.misc] Speech RECOGNITION software??

milo@ndmath.UUCP (Greg Corson) (02/13/90)

Does anyone know of any companies which license/sell an ALL SOFTWARE
speech recognition system? I seem to remember awhile back there was a
company called DRAGON SYSTEMS that had an all software product that
worked on the early 8086 systems. It seems like this kind of product
would work much better on todays faster Macs and PCs.

If anyone knows of companies that have this kind of all software solution
(assuming, of course, the computer already has some kind of sound digitizer)
please forward their name/address/phone to me.

If possible, send usenet or GEnie mail, if you just post a reply to news, I
may miss it. If you're associated with a company that makes this kind
of product, feel free to call me.

Keep in mind though, I'm only interested in all software solutions that
could be run on an existing Mac or PC with a simple sound digitizer as
input. I DON'T want a hardware-based recognition card or stand-alone box.

Thanks!
