[comp.misc] Academic vs Administrative Computing Departments

We are considering consolidating our academic and administrative computing
departments into a single department.  Thus, I would be grateful if anyone
would respond with pros and cons regarding this action.  Also, I would be
interested in obtaining a (non-scientific) poll of those schools that have
one or both of these departments.
